Fleeting existence
Lifespan is limited and varies
from species to species. A very trivial example could be comparing the
remarkable life of a butterfly, which lasts on average between 15 and 30 days,
to the many decades of a human's long existence.
Nevertheless, the more time passes, the shorter it seems to us, so much so that
if we could stop it, we would without hesitation.
The longer we live, the more we value and cling to this exclusive and unique
situation. Precisely because of life's preciousness, we must understand how
temporary any form of existence is. We
must not consider ourselves superior or irrelevant in our surroundings.
